Car Audio

I decided that since I’ve always been into car audio and have recently decided to rebuild my audio system, I would go ahead and devote an entire page to this and continue to update it as I make progress. The build I’m working on now will be a long process and there are lots of pictures.

As I stated in a previous post, I’ve decided to build out my 2009 Maxima. This page will serve as a build log for the audio system. Maybe one day I’ll be happy enough to call it complete, but if history repeats itself again, I’ll probably get another car before that happens.

On with the show! The equipment list is as follows.

  • Alpine CDA-117 CD Player
  • Alpine PXA-H100 IMPRINT processor and KTX-H100 IMPRINT sound manager
  • Alpine KCE-400BT Bluetooth module
  • JL Audio HD600/4
  • JL Audio HD750/1
  • Hertz HSK-165XL component set
  • Kicker Solo-Baric L7 (2001 model, the first of the square Solos)
  • Phoenix Gold / AlumaPro PowerCore 15 farad capacitor (original model before PG outsourced to someone other than AlumaPro)
  • Stinger HPM & JL Audio 4awg Power Wire
  • JL Audio 12awg Speaker Wire
  • 3x Stinger 6′ RCAs (Purchased in 2001, they were the top of the line back then)
  • Metra Axxess Steering Wheel Radio controls interface

And now what you’re all here for… the pictures!

First off, the equipment.

And a few of the whip

Here’s the start of things. Power/Ground runs.

And a posterity shot of yours truly. :)
