The end of 2008 … 40+ lbs less of me!
2008 turned out to be a decent year after all. I somehow managed to survive a round of lay offs at work, my fish tanks are doing alright, i’ve just about managed to get a new job, and I lost over 40 lbs! For those of you who don’t know, I moved to Chicago in 2003 and have steadily gained weight since doing it. In 2007, I quit smoking after roughly a decade of doing so. That made the weight problems even worse! 
I was up to over 230 lbs and was definitely overweight for someone my size. I should weigh around 180 or so depending on muscle tone. That’s about what I weighed when I left Louisiana and i’m proud to say that i’m now within 10 lbs of that again! I weighed in yesterday morning at 189. 
Anyway, here’s a picture of me from yesterday standing in front of my new 275g tank stand at Sho Tank.
It's still me. Just a lot less of me!

If anyone is interested in seeing how a 275g reef tank is built, here’s the “build thread” for mine. It’s a work in progress but it will give you an idea of what’s involved. I’m going to make a page on this blog dedicated to it, but there’s a million other things that I need to do first.
